Calvin Klein will be celebrating its 40th anniversary by giving back to the back to the city which has so greatly shaped its heritage.

The fashion house announced its plans to hold a grand party on September 7 at a venue created for the solely for this event. Architect John Pawson created right next to the city’s Jigh Line development, a 1.5 mile-long former elevated railway. This railway is being developed into a 6.7 acre park and promenade by the city of New York and Friends of the High Line.

Calvin Klein International’s President and Chief Operating Office, Tom Murry says "It was very important to us that this celebration honor the past while looking to the future of the brand, and integrate several key elements – and we feel that we have achieved what we set out to do. With the support of our many partner companies and licensees, this event will be the most memorable event we have held in our history."

To make the event even more important and memorable, the fashion house will make an undisclosed donation to the High Line, plus donating components of the dismantled Pawson structure to a number of New York-based non-profit organizations after the event.

"We hope that our monetary donation, as well as the awareness we are bringing to the High Line, will have a significant impact on the future of New York City and the development of the most important addition to this city’s public park system in decades," Murray adds.

Calvin Klein’s 40th anniversary event will coincide with New York Fashion Week. The Fashion House has revealed it’s plans to showcase its menswear collection in New York rather than in Milan in honor of its 40th anniversary.
